HR Manager / Bookkeeper

This position will require a detail oriented self starter with strong interpersonal skills, positive and motivated attitude, and strong professional appearance. Must be able to work well in a fast paced environment, and be comfortable multi-tasking and self managing and prioritizing multiple priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with the President to provide administration of business.
- Performs grant administration and management.
- Liaison with government customers such as National Institutes of Health and US Army/DoD.
- Records financial transactions and account information to update and maintain accounting records.
- Maintains Accounts Payable and Receivable.
- Evaluate records for accuracy of balances, postings, and calculations.
- Handles office management and administration.
- Performs human resource activities including recruiting, organizing interviews, maintaining HR database including employees’ training files.
- Handles event and hospitality coordination / planning and meeting preparations.
- Answers the phone.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or human resources and/or 5+ years of related experience is required.
- Previous experience in human resources and administration is key, as is the ability to problem-solve, troubleshoot and work well under pressure.
- Strong computer skills including accurate data entry and the use of databases such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications - including Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
