Senior Biomedical Researcher

Job Function
Ensures that NeuroWave stays at the forefront of the signal processing field for brain monitoring, diagnostics and therapy by helping devise, seeking funding for and implementing the Company's research agenda. Manages R&D activities necessary to ensure continuous and timely R&D funding.
Duties and Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):
- Conceives, develops and pursues new research concepts and brain monitoring technologies within NeuroWave's mission statement.
- Coordinates R&D programs to accomplish established statements of work, schedules, and budgets.
- Identifies prospective funding opportunities. Proposes new ideas with high likelihood of being funded as per topics set by the national funding agencies such as NIH and DoD.
- Plans, coordinates and implements NeuroWave's grant writing activities to ensure timely and continuous funding. Writes grant proposals to secure funding from the funding agencies.
- Organizes research activities to gather preliminary data to confirm viability of new ideas.
- Establishes and fosters collaboration with various research and clinical institutions that are leaders in brain research. Organizes collaborative efforts for gathering clinical data to support NeuroWave's R&D efforts.
- Devises and implements novel algorithms and techniques. Analyzes data acquired from human subjects to establish the clinical utility of novel methods.
- Presents results at conferences and publishes results in peer reviewed journals.
- Provides support for intellectual property protection.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, electrical / computer engineering, or related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to spearhead leading-edge research.
- Extensive experience with grant proposal writing with proven track record in securing funding.
- Extensive scientific publications.
- Extensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in advanced digital signal processing/analysis and pattern recognition of brain waves and other biosignals.
- Proficient in MATLAB.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
Desired:
- Experience in R&D in medical device industry.
- Experience with clinical trials.
- Knowledge of study design methods and biostatistics for clinical trials.
